Innovation Description
Profile
Innovator Mr. Pichai Nagarajan hails from Madurai district of TamilNadu.
Purpose
A labour has to apply force many times on each rubber tree to get desired path for the harvesting of rubber and this makes the labour tired. With the result this leads shortage of labour tapping in India. Hence a motorized concept of tapping is needed to reduce the effort. Mr. Nagarajan has developed a machine that will satisfy and give solution to the above problem.
Technical details
It is completely an automated system where the system is designed in such a way that even in the absence of the labour, the cut in the bark is successfully made. It consists of a rail which is made in the required dimensions and with an inclination of 16 degrees. On the rail, the sliding block is attached and then it is connected to a DC powered motor through gear arrangement. Then the tool is placed on the sliding block and thereby the tool is connected to the block by means of clamps along with nut & bolt. The rail is mounted on the arm in order to get the depth of cut in a proper manner.
Benefits
It is completely an automated system.
