Innovation Description

Profile
The innovator Mr. P. Kandraj belongs to the temple city Madurai where the peoples are mainly involved in business, agriculture. Coconut de-husking is a tedious process in and around Madurai. This made him to make a new coconut dehusker.    

Purpose
To remove the coconut husk with less effort by the labour and to increase productivity and to decrease time.

Technical Specification
The machine operates with 1.5 HP motor single phase electricity. The motor is attached with a wheel through the belt. The wheel interconnects the gear through chain system in turn convicted to 8 knives attached in 4 moving hooks. Motor runs with 14000 RPM. The weight of the entire machine is 40 kg.

Performance
When coconut shell is inserted in between 4 hooks, coconut fully removes of husk. He has claimed that person or women can easily peel off 90 nuts per minute. 

Benefits
The operator needs to put less effort. Per day productivity is very high when comparing with manual operation. Less time consuming process and the drudgery also reduces.
