The traditional knowledge holder has suggested treatment for heel spur.
Disease symptoms: Sharp pain in the morning, dull ache in the heel throughout the day, visible bone-like protrusion under the heel, inflammation and swelling at the front of the heel, heat radiating from the affected area 
Ingredients: 3-5 leaves of  Erukkam paluppu (Calotropis gigantea (L.) W.T.Aiton) and Brick.
Preparation: Collect and wash the leaves. Heat brick. place the collected leaves on brick.
Dosage/Application: Place the affected area on leaves present on brick once daily for 7 days.
