Herbal Treatment for Tetanus

Innovation Description

The traditional knowledge holder has suggested treatment for tetanus.
Disease symptoms: Stiffness, lockjaw, muscle twitching. 
Ingredients: 500 g leaves of Thali (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.), 250 g leaves of Karpooravalli (Coleus amboinicus Lour.), 500 g leaves of Bamboo (Bambusa balcooa Roxb.), 500 g leaves of Mavilangam (Crateva religiosa G.Forst.), 50 g fruits of Pepper (Piper nigrum L.), 50 g fruits of Omam (Trachyspermum ammi (L.) Sprague), 50 g vine of Thippili (Piper longum L. ), 50 g bulb of Garlic (Allium sativum L.), 30 g dry rhizome of Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe), 1 handful leaves of Nochi (Vitex negundo L.), 1 handful leaves of Sodom apple (Calotropis procera (Aiton) W.T.Aiton) and 500 ml Neem oil.
Preparation: Collect all the ingredients. Except for Nochi, Calotropis and Neem oil, crush all the other ingredients and add 500 ml lukewarm water. Separately crush nochi and calotropis leaves to prepare a paste. Tie the prepared paste in a cotton cloth to make a pouch and dip it in neem oil. 
Dosage/ Application: Feed the prepared mixture to the animal for a few days until the animal is able to stand. Then massage with the prepared pouch dipped in oil on the affected area of the animal once daily for 2-3 days.
Ingredients' availability: The plants are available in nearby places. Neem oil is available in the local market.
