Innovator Mr. Kodurupaka Linga Bhrammam hails from the Warangal district of Andhara Pradesh. He has studied upto 9th standard.  

Purpose

 Mr. Kodurupaka has developed an iron which runs on cooking gas (LPG) to reduce dependency on electricity.   

Technical details
Innovator has developed a gas based iron press, which consists of an iron box, inbuilt automatic lighter and copper pipe. The LPG is directly fed from the gas cylinder to the iron, which (LPG) flows through a small copper pipe and size of pipe is such that 1 kg of gas can be used continuously for 24 hours. The flow of the gas can be regulated by knob regulator, an inbuilt lighter is fixed inside the iron box for the ignition of the filament.  

Benefits

Useful for washer men for heavy duty ironing. Very useful where electricity is not available.
