Pedal Operated Pulse Threshing Machine

By : Mr. Santosh Saha, Bargarh, Orissa

Innovation Description

Profile
Innovator Mr. Santosh Saha hails from the Bargarh district of Orissa. He is a farmer by profession and also has a keen interest in agricultural machinery. He has been working on different post-harvest machines from the last 6 years where he has developed sunflower cum corn deseeder, pulse thresher, etc.

Purpose
The conventional process of pulse separation is time consuming and laborious. This complex and tidy operation persuaded the innovator to design and develop a simple implement for the same operation. Firstly, it deseeds pulses form the pods and further it separates them from the broken pods and other impurities.

Technical details
This total system comprises of a pedal operated unit, threshing drum, and sieving unit. Its pedal operated unit gives power to the threshing drum where it breaks pods of the green gram or black gram and then the sieving unit cleans the pulse grains from other foreign particles.

Benefits
As it's a pedal operated implement, so there is no requirement of power and again it has a good efficiency of pulse deseeding.
