Innovation Description
Profile
Innovator Mr. Indrajit Singh Khass hails from Aurangabad district of Maharashtra. He has come up with the idea for picking up hot boiling jaggery pot from one place to another place and completed in 20 days only (March 2016).
Purpose
The reason behind inventing this new concept of conveying system was to help his friend Mr. Raosaheb Barote, who is a landholder having sugarcane as a main crop. He wanted to build a plant for jaggery making from sugarcane. The problem was that while preparing jaggery when boiling liquid of jaggery comes to caramelized point then we have to pick up that boiling pot of jaggery manually and while picking it up accidents can happen to workers. Because of this reason worker was not easily available. So to avoid this type of accident and help his friend innovator Indrajit Khass decided to design open pan lifting power mechanism system which helps to carry it towards cooling pit.
Technical details
Mr. Indrajit has developed a new method of picking up a big hot boiling pot of jaggery in jaggery making plant. This is one type a conveyor system through gear mechanism to carry a heavy hot vessel from one place to another place, which requires less number of labors with no risk of accidents. This conveyor system has main parts as separate hopper system for feeding hot jaggery syrup, open jaggery pan/pot, frame around a pot/pan having notches to its 4 sides, gear systems mechanism for moving forward, and railing bar laid on two sides on which this frame has to move, bearings, shafts, lock wheels etc.
Benefits
It is safe and economical way for processing the jaggary.
