Self-Propelled Sprayer

By : Mr. Kamal Padihar / Pandey, Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Innovation Description

Profile
Innovator  Mr. Kamal Padihar hails from Raipur district of Chhatisgarh.

Purpose
Mr. Kamal has developed the self-propelled sprayer to ease in spraying to the farmers in terms of removing the load from their back and avoid unwanted incidents due to the harmful chemicals.

Technical details
Mr. Kamal developed a self-propelled sprayer which can be guided by pulling. The benefit is the farmer need not come in contact with the spray as a nozzle is provided backside and in the backward direction. The farmer walk front and the spraying is done behind. It can be started just like a power tiller. The guiding/pulling handle is made up of an iron frame (which length is adjustable by nut and bolts. Two-wheel is provided over the frame to carry the spraying tank. It can be operated between two rows. It runs in a middle way and covers two rows with respect to spraying.

Performance

Fuel consumption is 1 lit per 3 h. It can cover 5-6 acres of land in 8 hours.

Benefits
Farmers have not to carry such heavy loads like full tanks. Farmer remains safe from the harmful chemicals that come out from the spray.
