Mr. Vinod Mahadeviah is an innovator from Tumkur district Karanataka. He has developed many technologies for solving existing problems.
Purpose
The innovator wanted to develop such a machine that breaks a tender coconut, draws out its water and cools it instantaneously. He has designed and developed a machine that could do the cutting/opening the coconuts.
Technical detailsThe tender coconut breaking and instant cooling machine has a customized cutter ( using hydraulic power) for cracking the coconut. Once the coconut is cracked, the water goes in the water cooler through a tray placed under the blades. The base of the cooler is covered with a layer of sand on which large ice cubes are kept. Flexible pipes are sandwiched between the ice cubes and the sand. Coconut water passes through these pipes and is cooled to about 14 to 15 degrees celsius. It holds 10 kilograms of ice at a time, which is sufficient for serving about 400 glasses of coconut water, each containing 200 ml.
